Skills
Technical: Use of a variety of traps and nets, radio-telemetry, navigating with/operating a GPS, point counts, electroshocking, handling animals, removing birds from mist nets. Rearing of larval fish in McDonald jars and vertical flow incubators. Identification of Michigan birds, mammals, and amphibians via sight and sound. Identification of Great Lakes zooplankton and benthic invertebrates using a stereomicroscope or compound microscope. Large and small vessel experience. Basic carpentry.
Computer: Program experience: R & Markdown/RStudio, Microsoft Access, GitHub/GitLab, ArcGIS Desktop 10 and Spatial Analyst extension, Adobe Creative Suite, ImageJ (and scripts), ArcView, Minitab. Some WordPress, HTML/CSS, SQL, SAS, limited Python. Well-versed in internet research and obtaining professional resources. PC and Macintosh proficient.
Special training: First Aid/CPR certified.
